Ed and Sophie had the most perfect setting (and weather!) for their wedding, making their DIY barn wedding photography some of my favourite photos this year yet.
Ed originally contacting me after seeing me work at another couple’s wedding last year (hi Laura and Phil!), and knew that the photos I took at their wedding were exactly what he would love for his and Sophie’s this year.
The whole day was based around Sophie’s childhood home, an incredible farm with amazing views, and a stunning barn perfect for their wedding breakfast. With rooms aplenty, both Sophie and Ed were able to get ready here in the morning, making sure to avoid each other! Whilst guests arrived outside, parking up in the field and jumping onto the awesome vintage buses hired for the day to transport guests, due to limited parking at the church.
I absolutely loved Sophie’s dress, an amazing Claire Pettibone dress which suited her perfectly. Sophie and Ed had very few suppliers for their wedding, as they were keen to do a lot themselves and really make it their own. Sophie (with Ed’s sisters help!) did her own hair and makeup, and also her own flowers. All decorations were done by themselves, and they even got friends and family to help with the food meaning it really did feel like a homely wedding.
Getting married in the church Sophie grew up going to was important to her, and it was lovely that they could bring everyone together in this beautiful building. Longbourn Barn was equally amazing, filled with long wooden tables and decorated with striking green ivy, white and pale pink flowers.
Ed and Sophie simply glowed the entire time, and I absolutely loved every single minute of capturing their day. Thank you so much!
